I'm Patrick, a Calgary-area photographer, designer, and instructor with a decade of experience turning creative software into practical, usable skills. I currently teach Advanced Photography at SAIT (Continuing Education), and spent 4 years before that as SAIT's Digital Media & Design Instructor, teaching visual design, portfolio development, and freelancing fundamentals to 50+ students a semester with a 90% satisfaction rating. On the technical side, I can help you build real skills in photography (camera fundamentals through advanced lighting and portfolio-level work), Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Lightroom Classic, plus more accessible tools like Canva and Squarespace for anyone building a brand, portfolio, or website without a full design background. I also run my own commercial photography and design business, Shifting Focus, so what I teach comes from software and workflows I use on real client projects, not just tutorials.
