Hi! My name's Gurdit. I’m a tutor based in Calgary who would like to help students unlock their academic potential. Growing up, school was always an afterthought for me. However, when I discovered my passion for finance and real-world problem solving, I realized I needed to change my approach. Using that as motivation, I achieved a 90% in English 30-1 and a 92% in Social 30-1 (Although, I'd welcome the criticism that learning isn't always about how close to a 100 you get on a grade!) Today, I study Urban Studies and Finance, proving that you can always turn things around. Because of my background, I don't just teach subjects, I like to teach students how to engage with academia and build confidence through making learning engaging. My Tutoring Style: For English & Social Studies (K-12): I focus on critical thinking, structured essay writing, and analytical frameworks. I help students see how history, community, and literature connect to the real world. A quick thought experiment I'd like you to try is asking yourself why the movies and media you like appeal to you.
